Mezcaleria y Taqueria El Gordito was born from one father's recipes and the values he passed to his sons. Two brothers carry that inheritance forward every day in Portland's Parkrose neighborhood.
Where it started: Oaxaca
Growing up in Oaxaca, the brothers learned to cook beside their father — breathing in wood-fire smoke, tasting roasted corn, and absorbing a deep respect for tradition. Those lessons are the foundation of every dish on the menu.

Bringing their father's recipes to Portland wasn't just opening a taqueria — it was honoring a promise to keep those flavors alive. Every dish is a tribute to where they come from and to the man who taught them.
